About International Center of Photography (ICP)

The International Center of Photography is unmatched by rivals in the fields of photography and visual culture. In 1974, Cornell Capa established ICP with the goal of advancing "concerned photography"—i.e., politically and socially conscious images that have the power to inform and improve society. Through its exhibitions, public events, education initiatives, and community outreach, ICP creates a welcoming environment for discussion on the power of pictures. The acclaimed ICP organizes exhibitions that showcase a broad range of photographic approaches, from antique daguerreotypes to multimedia pieces that blend analog and digital methods.
